As a passionate and motivated engineer, I’m constantly striving to expand my personal and technical skillset through opportunities that allow me to meaningfully contribute to a project.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida and began my professional career as a controls engineer in the defense industry. I became fascinated with data while designing data processing algorithms, viewing the design process as a careful orchestration by which context is given to observation.
I sought mentorship from electro-mechanical professionals while building supplemental technical proficiencies outside of work in pursuit of a cross-disciplinary career. My controls engineering role underscored the interdisciplinary nature of modern engineering that pulls from various technical disciplines to yield effective designs.
As a data engineer, I have developed and implemented scalable database architectures in the defense and banking industries, designed and automated ETL workflows, and produced data exploration and visualization tools. I've learned how to scrutinize data using Python and derive meaning from trends and patterns.
I’m a life-long learner and pursue learning opportunities that challenge me at the intersection of engineering and creativity. I also participate in various creative projects at my local maker space, pursuing many of my own technical learning and supporting others' creative builds as an individual contributor.
My philosophy is that engineering is a deeply creative labor of love that transcends math and science. Technical proficiency continually develops as one creatively realizes their own imagination. It’s a crucial tool that sharpens over time, but engineering lies in understanding how technical elements come together to wield it.
Let's learn more together!
